ClothTalk

Conductive cloth microphone for clear, real-time speech in noisy environments

ClothTalk overview: a curved cloth microphone captures the wearer’s speech while reducing surrounding noise.

ClothTalk is a wearable microphone that uses a flexible conductive-cloth diaphragm to capture the wearer’s voice while reducing surrounding noise. Curving the diaphragm makes the microphone more selective to speech near the mouth, including quiet whispers.

By addressing noise at the microphone itself, ClothTalk supports real-time speech input without a GPU. The design brings clear voice communication to devices with limited computing resources.
